Tampa Fishing Charters - Beach Snook

Fish inshore with us during the late spring and summer to feel the exhilaration of catching large tarpon on light tackle. These spectacular fish are known for their aerobatic, drag screaming runs. Massive amounts of snook, red fish, and trout inhabit our waters, and we fish for them when we are not fishing for tarpon. In the early spring, king fish and cobia migrate through the Tampa Bay area, and we target them when we can safely operate in the Gulf of Mexico.  As you can see, Tampa fishing charters always has something special to offer.

Family fishing is one of our forte’s . Whether it is a birthday, vacation or just a day to spend with your child, we are here to make your day enjoyable and peaceful. With the differing species surrounding the area, we are able to capture a child’s attention by putting them on these fish. Captain Rick frequently fishes with his four children who have been angling since they were old enough to walk. So bring your young ones along to make a lasting memory on a relaxing fishing charter.

Tampa Fishing Charters - Red Fish On the ride to the fishing grounds feel free to talk to Rick about fishing techniques and what will be caught. Rick has a wealth of fishing knowledge, and he is glad to answer any questions. While fishing with us, we will strive  to make it a trip of a life time.

If you enjoy catching lots of big trout, now is your time of year. This week I was fortunate to have my guide friends fromCharleston,SC visit me. They did not have a lot of time so we decide to do a quick trip out of Dunedin. We spent a little bit of time looking for white bait, but it was not there. I did not feel like going out and looking for it on the beach, but I have heard that it can still be caught out there.

Tampa Fishing Charters - Tarpon

Tarpon fishing has been awesome. We did have to deal with a cold front this last week, but before and after the front, the fishing was on fire. On one trip we were only able to hook and land one, but on another trip, we hooked six and landed three. Tarpon fishing is one of the most exciting types of fishing that can be experienced.

Tampa Fishing Charters - Beach Snook

The snook are on the beaches and in the passes. Fishing for them with live green backs is the ticket. It has taken a few hour to catch the greenies due to an abnormal May cold front, but diligence pays off.  These big snook are being taken by sight casting to them.

Tampa Fishing Charters - King Fish

Today’s charter started out looking for bait, and thankfully we found enough thread fins to go King fishing. While catching bait, we saw a tarpon roll so we tried to get connected with him, but he would not take our bait. So we went out to a nearshore reef in hopes of catching a king.

Tampa Fishing Charters - Speckled Trout

Today’s charter was with some guest from New York–Mike and his son, Matt. At the beginning of the trip I was told that Matt had never caught a fish on artificial bait. I assured them that would not be a problem today. After, looking for greenbacks to no avail, we decided to go throw lures. Continue reading

Tarpon Springs Trout and Flounder

April 11, 2011 – Clearwater Fishing Charters

Tampa Fishing Charters - Speckled Trout

The weather this morning was great. We headed out right after the sun came up and went to catch bait behind Anclote Key. The bait was hard to come by, but we did manage a few nice green backs. Trout are everywhere and still biting artificials almost better than live bait. The twenty inch trout that Jesse caught in the picture above was caught on a plastic grub. Continue reading

Dunedin Trout

April 4th, 2011 – Clearwater Fishing Guides

Fishing this morning north of the causeway was on fire. When we first got to our spot the trout where hitting our grubs on ever cast. We caught most of the fish on green and white grub tails. White bait in Northern Pinellas county has been hard to find, but artificals are crushing the trout right now.

Terria Ceia & Anna Maria Sound Trout Bite

March 28, 2011 – Bradenton / Sarasota Fishing Charters

The Manatee County bite has been phenomenal. We had a small window to get out and fish because of the rain, but we were able to sneak some fishing in. After arriving at the first spot we caught trout, Spanish mackerel, and lady fish. Then we moved to the next spot and right away we caught a pompano. We caught some more trout, another pompano and a flounder. All fish were caught on artificial baits. It was a pleasure to have a family on my boat that consisted of two grandparents, a dad and son. We caught around forty trout total. Fishing is really good right now with Tampa Fishing Charters.
