The Tampa Bay snook bite has been very hot this spring. While fishing upper Tampa Bay and the south shore of Tampa Bay we have been getting slammed by big snook. It looks like the fish are making a come back.
Green Backs (aka Scaled Sardines) have been over looked lately for baits that are easier to catch, like Thread Fins. I prefer Green Backs, but I have not wanted to spend the time chumming in the places as I have fished. While free lining large Threads, we have been getting quality bites. Sometimes we my clients have not been able to turn these line siders, but after getting tooled three times this fish came to the boat:
But large snook are not the only thing biting. Upper slot fish red fish have been biting pretty well also.
Even nice sized trout have been making an appearance:
Everything is biting right now, and now the might tarpon has arrived in our waters. It is a great time to be fishing in Tampa Bay.
